Information We Collect
- Email Address: Used for account authentication and profile recovery. Your email is stored securely and is never shared with third parties for marketing.
- Birth Data: Date of birth, time of birth (optional), gender, relationship status, and work status. This is used solely to generate your personalized astrology insights.
- Device Identifier: A random anonymous ID generated on your device. We use this to associate your profile with your daily insights. It is not linked to your Apple ID or any personal account.
- Push Notification Token: If you opt in to notifications, we store your device token to send daily insights.
- Anonymous Analytics: We use TelemetryDeck, a privacy-friendly analytics service, to understand general usage patterns. No personally identifiable information is collected.
How We Use Your Data
- To calculate your astrological natal chart using real astronomical data
- To generate personalized daily insights based on current planetary transits
- To send you daily push notifications (if enabled)
- To improve the app experience through anonymous usage analytics
Data Storage
Your profile data is stored on our secure servers (hosted on Supabase with encryption at rest). Your data is also stored locally on your device for offline access.
Third-Party Services
- Supabase: Database hosting (encrypted, SOC 2 compliant)
- Anthropic Claude API: AI interpretation of astronomical data (no personal data is stored by Anthropic)
- OneSignal: Push notification delivery
- RevenueCat: Subscription management
- TelemetryDeck: Privacy-friendly analytics
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Data is only shared with the service providers listed above for the sole purpose of operating the app.
Your Rights
- You can reset your profile at any time from the app's Settings screen
- You can disable push notifications at any time through iOS Settings
- You can request deletion of all your data by contacting us or using the "Delete Account" option in Settings
Children's Privacy
Shimal is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
