Privacy Policy

In short: Drappin only accesses the Pinterest board you explicitly choose. We never post on your behalf, never sell your data, and never read private boards you haven't connected.
1. Who we are
Drappin ("we", "us", "our") is an iOS application that connects to Pinterest on your behalf and helps you find purchase links for items you have pinned. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have.

2. Information we collect
Account information
When you create a Drappin account we collect your email address and (optionally) your name. If you use "Sign in with Apple", we receive the name and email you choose to share via Apple's private relay system.
Pinterest data (with your permission)
When you connect your Pinterest account via Pinterest's official OAuth flow, we request read-only access to:
- Your public profile (username, display name)
- The list of your boards (so you can choose one)
- Pins from the one specific board you select (image URL, title, description, date pinned)
We do not request permission to post on your behalf. We do not access boards you haven't explicitly selected. We do not access direct messages, private boards, or any other Pinterest data.
Usage data
We log basic app usage (features opened, errors encountered) so we can diagnose bugs and improve the product. This data is not linked to your Pinterest content.
3. How we use your information
- To run the core Drappin service: scanning pins from your chosen board and identifying purchase links for the items shown.
- To send transactional emails (account verification, password reset, service announcements).
- To deliver push notifications you have explicitly enabled.
- To detect and prevent abuse of our systems.
4. How we use Pinterest data
Pinterest data is used solely to provide the Drappin service to you. Specifically:
- Image URLs from your pins are sent to product-matching services (SerpAPI, Google Vision) to identify the item shown.
- The matched products, store links, and prices are displayed back to you inside the Drappin app.
- We never share, resell, or publish your Pinterest content.
- We do not use your Pinterest data to train AI models.
If you disconnect your Pinterest account, we immediately stop fetching new pins and delete the cached pin data within 30 days.
5. Third-party services
Drappin uses the following third-party services:
- Pinterest API — to read pins from your chosen board, per Pinterest's Developer Terms.
- Supabase — authentication and encrypted storage of your account data.
- SerpAPI / Google Vision — to identify products from pin images. Image URLs are sent, results come back. No user identity is attached.
- Apple Push Notification Service — to deliver push notifications you opt into.
- RevenueCat / StoreKit — to manage subscriptions (if applicable).
Each of these providers has their own privacy practices, which we've vetted against our standards.
6. Data storage and security
Your data is stored on servers located in the European Union and the United States. We use industry-standard encryption (TLS in transit, AES-256 at rest) and follow the principle of least privilege — only the services that need access to your data have access to it.
7. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access all the data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Delete your account and all associated data.
- Export your data in a portable format.
- Disconnect Pinterest at any time from inside the app.

8. Data retention
We keep your account data as long as you have an active account. If you delete your account, we delete all associated data within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain certain records.
9. Children's privacy
Drappin is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will remove it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If the changes are material, we'll notify you via email or an in-app notice. The "Last updated" date at the top always reflects the most recent version.
